A cat who was found hugging construction stones outside, now has soft blankets to snuggle with every day.

A few months ago, Alina Lazaryeva of Kuwait Animal Aid, received a message about a cat that had been found at a construction site. “Sadly, many animals have been abandoned in that area. Our volunteer immediately went to his rescue,” Alina shared with Love Meow.
The cat was seen hanging onto paving stones and resting on them all alone. When his rescuer arrived, he retreated behind the stones and appeared very scared and confused.
“Our volunteer was able to pick him up. He didn’t move or run as he was frozen in fear.”

The cat named Yellow was then taken into the care of a local foster home, so he could have a safe place to stay and a family to cater to his needs.
“He was feeling so much better once he reached his foster home,” Alina told Love Meow. “We have a large flow of abandoned, unwanted animals in Kuwait. We are constantly looking for more foster homes.”

Yellow warmed up to his people and even started to show affection. Despite being very wary of other cats, he quickly adjusted to indoor life where he belongs.
His demeanor changed as he realized that he no longer had to worry about food or fend for himself in the outdoors ever again.

After getting neutered and fully vetted, he opened up even more and began to seek affection and cuddles.
Kuwait Animal Aid works with many rescue partners in the US to give deserving animals like Yellow a better chance at finding their forever homes.

A couple of weeks ago, Yellow joined a large number of rescued cats on a long flight across the ocean to their new foster homes in the US.
They all arrived safely and have since been taken in by their new foster families. Yellow was welcomed in with open arms by Save the Meow Meows, a cat rescue based in Los Angeles.

He quickly felt at home and was very cuddly with his people. He was so pleased with the living arrangements and turned into mush when he was given head scritches.
For the first time, he warmed up to some of his foster feline friends, and even started to hang out with them as long as they were calm.

Yellow who was renamed Elliot, spent his day snuggling with soft things and enjoying his peace and quiet. He adored taking long naps on a big comforter or in his blanket fort.
After a few days of waiting for his forever home, his dream came true this week. Elliot was officially adopted and joined his new family for the holidays.

It didn’t take long for him to claim his new home as his kingdom, and snuggle up to any soft things he could scour.
